I am excited to announce the first annual "Summit on Latin@s in NYC," a forum to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the Latino community in New York City and a discussion on our future. This wide ranging forum will feature expert speakers, discussing where we are as a community and where we have to go. From education to job growth, to community concerns and all we have to celebrate, this will be a definitive event that you won't want to miss!
We are honored to have as our hosts: the CUNY Center for Puerto Rican Studies, CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, CUNY Jaime Lucero Mexican Studies Institute, and the Hispanic Federation. I am also glad to be organizing this conference alongside NYC Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and Council Member Carlos Menchaca, with the support of our colleagues Council Members Fernando Cabrera, Rafael Espinal, Julissa Ferreras-Copeland, Rosie Mendez, I. Daneek Miller, Annabel Palma, Antonio Reynoso, Rafael Salamanca, and Ritchie Torres.
