The NYC Department of Design and Construction is managing a capital construction project on Wadsworth Avenue between West 190th Street and Ft. George Hill. Water shutdowns are necessary in order to perform a distribution water main replacement. Weather and field conditions permitting, the shutdown will begin at 9:00am on Friday, 03/11/16. The interruptions will last for approximately eight (8) hours; Water will be restored at 5:00pm. Be advised that water will be shut down for properties receiving service from the Wadsworth Ave. and the 192nd St. water main.

SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER:
As per the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY), all garbage in the construction zone should be brought out from behind construction MPT (fences, barrels, yellow tape, etc.) so that it is visible and may be picked up by garbage trucks.
The DDC recommends that a qualified person shut off the water main valve in your house/building in order to avoid sediment entering your building’s system, which is common with this type of operation.
You are asked to shut off all Water Cooled appliances, which may include air conditioners, large refrigeration devices, etc.
Once water service is returned, turn the main house valve back on and flush the system by running your faucets, sinks and tubs, for a few minutes. Run only COLD Water until it appears clear.

El Departamento De Diseño y Construcción de la Ciudad de Nueva York (NYCDDC) está administrando un trabajo de construcción capital en la calle Wadsworth Ave. entre la calle West 190th Street y Ft. George Hill. Cierres de agua son necesarios para limitar el impacto de las válvulas en el área de construcción, clima y las condiciones del campo que permitan. En ocasiones, el trabajo puede ser completado en menos tiempo y el servicio de agua restablecido antes de lo indicado.

COSAS AL RECORDAR:
• El DDC recomienda que cierre la válvula principal de agua en su casa / edificio con el fin de evitar problemas que pueden ocurrir si / cuando el sedimento entra o se libera de sus tuberías.
• Se le pide que apague todos los aparatos refrigerados por agua, la cual puede incluir aparatos de aire acondicionado, grandes dispositivos de refrigeración, etc.
• Una vez que se devuelva el servicio de agua, abra la válvula principal de la casa y deje que el agua corra a los lavados y bañeras durante unos minutos.
