Yesterday a fire occurred at 590 Fort Washington Avenue cut power to the building. Damage was minor and no injuries were reported by the FDNY. Con Edison Electric and Gas temporarily cut gas to allow for their servicemen to restore gas to the building. Heat and hot water has since returned to the building but electricity has yet to return. Residents have been provided with food and warm shelter as they confront this inconvenience. My staff has been dispatched to the site to help aid the displaced residents. I will keep you updated as the situation continues to develop.
