Today my office had the district privilege of honoring the legendary distance runner and former Marble Hill resident, Ted Corbitt. It was a pleasure hearing from his many friends and former competitors about his many feats including founding the New York Road Runners as it's president, creating the sport of ultra marathons and working to develop the New York City Marathon. I was proud to sponsor the legislation that made this street co-naming possible and am happy to see the man who touched so many lives, now have his name on 228th street in Marble Hill.
