Summer Constituent Outreach Internship

Rep. Brenda Lopez is looking to grow her team!

The position will perform a variety of legislative duties relating to office and constituent services. The duties include conducting research and preparing reports; receiving, investigating and resolving complaints and inquiries from constituents; attending and representing the Representative at meetings; and preparing policy papers and memos.

The position requires canvassing or knocking on doors in district 99 and constituent outreach to schools, business, organizations, and faith groups.

This position may also be responsible for producing the newsletter, monitoring the social media feeds, and working on slide presentations and other graphics necessary for public meetings.

Additional duties include but are not limited to conducting issues research and expressing ideas, conclusions and recommendations effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

This position requires the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office and throughout Georgia.

This position requires odd hours and a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: One (1) year of experience in legislative/policy research or communications and/or advocacy experience in government affairs or community organizing and development.

Education: Preference for current college students and/or recent graduates/some college education.

Language: Preference to those that are fluent (speak, read, and write) in Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, or Arabic.
