Every day our nation faces peril and strife. Right now a hurricance is bearing down on the Gulf Coast threatening millions of people. The families of 10 sailors are grieving the unnecessary loss of their loved ones. And this nation is still trying to heal from the violence in Charlottesville - in spite of our President. And what is the response of our president? He slides in an executive order designed to strip away the rights of our fellow Americans. And to add insult to injury, he issues a silent Friday night pardon to convicted former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio who abused the power of his office, refused to investigate sex crimes and eagerly deprived people of their rights based on the color of their skin or the accent with which they spoke.
The sad thing is that this president knows what he's doing is wrong. Why? As the master of self-aggrandizement and promotion, he has done this in virtual silence.
And you know who else remains silent? Congressman Rob Wittman. His silence on these basic issues of common decency is deafening and we, his constituents, are listening.
Well, I for one refuse to remain silent. It is time to rise up and take on this bully of a President and his accomplice Rob Wittman. We must restore COMMON SENSE to this country to once again restore the COMMON GOOD. That's why I am running for Congress in Virginia's First Congressional District.

Count every vote.
Who would have ever imagined that we would ever utter that phrase in 2020? But here we are -- awaiting the outcome of the most critical election of our lifetimes with the President of the United States questioning the integrity of our elections. In one state he wants every vote counted, in others he wants the counting halted. The only part of this whole process that lacks integrity is the President himself.
Elections are the lifeblood of our democracy and every vote is important -- Democrat and Republican alike. Without free and fair elections that include a comprehensive and transparent counting process, the US joins a long list of nations in which freedom and democracy are concepts which receive little more than ironic lip service and a tongue-in-cheek mention in Wikipedia.
Count. Every. Vote.
