THE FIRST-EVER Broome Senior High School Girls Academy (BGA) Performance Showcase was held last Wednesday at Goolarri Media and it was a resounding success. We had more than 200 people attend the night which included a record number of families, both local and community, as well as past and present students. The night exceeded our expectations and was a perfect example of our girls āstepping upā. Over 20 girls performed on stageāsinging and dancingā and more than 20 pieces of artwork were auctioned which included paintings, jewellery and dream catchers. The artworks were inspired by BGA Development Officer Tamara Albert and local artist Paul Boon. Music was organised by music teacher Rob Pascoe and the dancing choreographed by Alex Carkeek from Hip Hop Collaboration. The scrumptious food on the night was created by the famous ācurry makerā Hasimah Haji-Noor along with our year 12 students Keshi Moore and Shontae Wade. Special thanks to these wonderful people for their continued support of our girls. Our fundraising efforts will go towards leadership camps for our students.
