My hoax radar is flashing on this one. I saw one very similar one (hoax) that involved Firehouse subs. There has been a string of these. This version and the versions with the garbage written on restaurant receipts seem to be the latest fad. One young restaurant server just lost her job when she claimed patrons of a restaurant wrote on the receipt they weren't giving her a tip because she was gay, She raised over $3000 on paypal after her story hit social media, but the patrons not only had the real receipt (with a big tip) but the credit card bill to prove it. The truth will prevail, if it did happen, fire the management, but everyone is jumping on the boycott TJ's band wagon too quickly. The KFC case, in which a girl who was mauled by a pitbull, claimed she was asked to leave the restaurant because her was disturbing the customer with her looks, the mother raised over $130,000 dollars and everyone was calling for boycotts of KFC was proven to be a hoax.

problem is the owner of this franchise is still a representive of taco johns if i were then i'd pull the franchise before this goes futher!! as far as saying he wasn't forced to wear it come on!!!! everyone that is an employee does what they are told in fear of losing their job!!! taco johns corporate needs to pull their heads out of the sand and take a stand for this boy-- make an example out of this franchise owner!!!

Why do I think this is just another Internet hoax for everyone to get outraged about. As of right now, It is only being "Alleged". There are no facts that this even took place to begin with. Don't get me wrong. This could have taken place, But until their are facts about what really took place. I think that we should all reserve judgment on these type of stories. For example, Just yesterday, We found out that the KFC incident was a hoax and I said the same thing that I am saying tonight. The bottom line is this. People might want to wait until the facts come out before siding with either one of them.

I just read this story and was most disturbed by this: "Taco John's International Inc.'s attorney Patricia Hays said the company won't investigate the matter because franchise locations are independently owned and operated. You better investigate. Even though they are independent franchises, that individual franchise operates under the corporate name and what they do (discrimination ) or do not do (just let it happen) reflects on the corporate image. Your brand is sullied and you need to step it up.

Another weak statement from the corporate office that hides behind the franchisee. If you were really serious since this does hurt the national brands reputation too, you would oversee the franchisee's investigation so that they don't sweep it under the rug by blaming the victim...oh wait too late, they did just that!

Well, all the local franchise did about it was say that the name tag was my idea and that I thought it was funny."
That is how serious they treated this incident. Let's not forget people that even though the act was not illegal in SD, the corporate office CAN and SHOULD have a non-discriminat ion policy for the franchises...

Taco John needs a cash register button to track when customers want to order something that is unavailable... like breakfast at 11am or the awesome chicken quesadilla tacos. Then you could gauge interest in all day breakfast or what to bring back
