You did nothing to win, silva clearly landed the more significant strikes, had octagon control, 99% of your takedowns and outstruck you from his active guard, stop being a crybaby, you clearly lost according to the new rules and EVEN to the old rules, too bad you couldnt put out the GOAT even at the twilight of his career,, when he lost his chin, most of his strength, most of his reflexes, speed and whatnot, yet he could beat you :)

I like you but you gave him too much respect. And not in the good way. It's one thing to give a counter puncher his due, it's another to not land any hard shots to faze home.

You lost not on points but by perception. I thought you won by split dec because you did win the fight but the perception on a lot of your strikes was they were weak or ineffective. I guess that's what happens when you fight a magician.

You fought a legend at the end of his career. You should show some gratitude for that alone. I will say you've on the fight on points... that's obvious. Also obvious is that you absolutely did not outclass Silva. You were tentative and landed little punches all fight long. Your ground and pound was non existent. Actually Silva was landing strikes from the bottom nicely. Now I think about it Silva showed some flashes of excitement. You did not. If you cannot dominate a 42 year old fighter you deserve the loss! Shut up and move on. You looked slow against z legend St thd end of his career. You have no shot against a top 15 opponent.

Cormier duped everyone into believing you won that fight by his prejudiced fight calling. Rogan did not agree with him but the broadcast swayed those who were watching. You didn't do anything. You weren't as bad as Leites but you were definitely just as bad as Cote. Your shots never phased Silva. Other than the clinches, where you clearly won, he beat you everywhere and he tried to finish the fight. You did nothing to win. I am glad you showed you can be composed but you sacrificed the edge you normally use to win fights. I realize that if you pressed the action more, you took a big risk of being out-counter striked. However, because you played it safer, what you did in the fight was not the style of fighting that got you into the top 10. I wish you the best Derek, if you are continuing to evolve, you will be in the top 5 soon. This loss was the sacrifice you made to learn how to be more composed in the cage and fight smarter. I think you threw too much volume. If you throw 10 punches and hit the first few but miss the last few it doesn't look good to judges. You threw way more volume but Anderson's hit to miss ratio on punches was better. Making it seem as tho he was having the better exchanges because visually they didn't see him miss as much.

Striking THAN Grappling... New Rules for Judges! Yeah, you hit him in the clinch, but he let you. He controlled the fight, hit you harder and you did nothing on the ground.
You won round 1... I thought maybe 3... but you left it to the judges. Sucks. And you definitely, definitely, definitely didn't outclass him.

In 2016 hands down winner, 2017 under the unified rules you lost 2 rounds. You can't just get a takedown a win a round now. Have to do something. You landed more but it's arguable that after rewatching it that Silva's shits were cleaner and stiffer. Silva for much of the fight won both the Aggressor and Impact sub categories. These new rules will make fighters advance your position on the ground, do significant damage, or lose the any kind of point that would be given for the completed takedown.

After couple of losses you are on the chopping block...don't think the new UFC owners see anything in you ....time to find a new job. Last time out Whitaker kO'd you.

Derek Brunson great performance. Justin how much experience do you have in Mixed Martial Arts? I'm not upset at Anderson however Derek did his job. You say don't leave it to the judges? Your talking about Anderson Silva whom I wouldn't make it a minute with unless he let me and I trained and fought ammy. Derek I would walk away and take his one on the chin because you aren't going anywhere because you are among the elite. Final thought... Justin if your not familiar with what goes into the fight then I suggest making comments as you did should be kept to yourself. I've watched fighters cry like babies, go into depression, lose their minds over a loss. It's easy to say walk away and hit the gym harder but a fight removes all control over your emotions when you lose. I seen some recover pretty quick with a beer. I've seen others take 2 years away and you don't know where they went. Derek Brunson will fight many more times in the UFC and is capable of winning the title. A lot of fighters next paycheck depends on a win or loss. I've seen friends go one and done in Bellator and one in particular is Adrian Henderson who clearly and I mean clearly won. Another example is Alexa Conners who dominated her opponent in Invicta and was given a loss and Alexa did all she could to finish her opponent. These 2 examples could be he difference in Adrian and Alexa at the level of supporting their families. So I can respect Derek's feelings but also my advice is what's done is done and time to get past it. The fight game is a cruel cruel world and those who haven't held a fighter after he gave all and lost will never understand.... or saw the blood, sweat and tears leading to the fight. Also paychecks are determined by wins and losses and entry level pros get 500 and 500 if they win or 750 and 750 more of the win and a win or loss determines if you get 1000 and 1000 etc. So for the ones saying don't leave it to the judges who have never fought or even trained please join a gym and train for 4-6 years and take a fight and dominate and take a loss after trying to finish your guy and see how it feels. It steals your F ing soul at first, leaves you numb and you still feel you let your team down. It's more about the ones who took the ride with you who you feel you let down... Derek I love you man and the pain will hopefully leave you. Know in your heart what's up.... Dana knows and the entire world knows..... judging today is a disappointment and the biggest problem with the commissions on my opinion.. also for those who don't know the UFC has no control over the judging the state where the fight takes place has their independent Athletic Commission that hires judges and puts them in place. So everyone agreed you won the fight. Then you come on here and act like you dominated Silva. Way to shit all over your support. Should have just kept it classy...

With that being said. You didn't out class anyone. Anderson is clearly on the down slope of his career. You faught an old man and barely won (in my opinion). You didn't do anything special. The two take downs with little ground and pound were the only two things that makes me say you won. The flurry of uppercuts was good but Silva had plenty of good momments too. Don't be so cocky and over exaggerate what actually happened.

Dude, you ran most of the fight, got stuff on almost all your takedown, even on the two that you did get, you laid and prayed. Other than that, you really didn't do much. Anderson controlled most of that fight and the punches you did land were little jabs and weak uppercuts in the clinch that didn't even phase Silva. Even when Silva was on his back at the end of the round, he left himself open and was out striking you with elbows and punches from guard. You can't try and point win and then get mad you left it in the hands of the judges.

You are all the same people who seem to forget that Anderson front kicked Bisping to the face and hurt DC with a body kick on 2 days notice. Anderson is still a dangerous fight for ANYONE.

Look within yourself and find out what YOU could have done better, NOT what someone else did to you. Don't make excuses, look for solutions my man. Great fight, and thank you.

You won the fight bro, you changed your gameplan from your usually wildness and you were more tentative though calculated, and the fight spoke for itself. It was great to see you grow as a mixed martial artist. Anderson is still one of the nastiest counter strikers in the division. These people don't know what it's like to have something taken away from you. The same people who was sayin you was stupid when you KO'd everyone from Alvey, Hall and Carneiro for running on Whittaker, are the same who foolishly say you did nothing. Head up champ. If it was anyone else in there with you, you woulda got the W and you know it.

Derek Brunson got severely robbed!!! I was blown away to hear that SIlva got 30-27 on the scorecards. Those judges should be fired as they truly fuck with fighter's livelihood.
