A14 junction 52 Claydon Interchange: drainage renewal
I am writing to provide you with an update on our drainage renewal work taking place on the
A14 junction 52 eastbound carriageway, the eastbound exit and entry slip roads and on the
roundabout.
We previously wrote to you informing of an expected finish date for this work of Friday 28
May. Whilst this date remains unchanged for the daytime works, the overnight works are
being carried out quicker than expected and we are now looking at a completion date of
Tuesday 18 May, subject to weather conditions. This work will continue to be delivered
under a combination of daytime lane closures and night-time full closures, on weekdays and
weeknights only, subject to weather conditions.
Dates for the remaining phases of work have been amended and these are highlighted for
clarity in the table overleaf.
During the weeknight slip road closures, traffic will be diverted on the A14 to turnaround at
the next available junction to continue their journey. During the weeknight full closures, traffic
will be diverted off and back onto the A14 eastbound at the same junction. Our working
hours during weeknight closures will be 8pm to 6am.
Vegetation removal works are also required to facilitate our drainage repairs, the majority of
which has been completed. Our vegetation removal works on the eastbound entry slip
road at junction 52 have been brought forward and we now plan to complete this work on
Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 April.
