CALLOUT
After a morning on the hill for a technical training session, the team was called to evacuate a lady from Cwm Gwdi, who had slipped and badly fractured her ankle whilst on a walk with her husband.
The lady was assessed and treated by team medics and then stretchered down to the car park for her onward journey to hospital.
The lady and her family were experienced walkers who knew the hill well. They summoned help by dialling 999 and asking for (police) and Mountain Rescue. What 3 Words worked well enabling rescuers and family members to locate the couple.
Working with colleagues from Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team.

CALLOUT 1.
As the team were turning up for training, one of our members who started early came across a young lady who had sustained an ankle injury in the Cwm Gwdi area. The young lady was treated on scene by a casualty carer and luckily we managed to drive up to the casualty and bring her safely off the hill in the team Land Rover and handed over to the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust. The team still managed to do some hill training whilst the call was being dealt with by a small group of team members.
CALLOUT 2.
As team members were returning home from training, Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police requested us to assist a casualty in the Pen Y Fan area who had also sustained an ankle injury. The casualty was treated and stretchered off to an awaiting Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.
We would like to thank Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team for being on standby for the second call in case we were in need of assistance. We wish both our casualties a speedy recovery.
