Happy New Year!

So here we are a new year and indeed a new decade (ignoring the "I think you'll find decades start on the 01 nutters").

There's an overwhelming urge to mark such occasions with resolutions and plans. A fresh new chapter. Sadly we already have storylines in progress and a deep plot ongoing. No Hollywood reboots for us. We can't even do anything timey wimey like just DESTROYING Vulcan on a whim (sorry but that still hurts 😢). Anyhow the urge remains.

I'm going to resist setting any goals or resolutions. I've found that doing so just adds guilt to the mix when they fail. I'm also not going to predict that this year/decade will be better than the last. I've done so before and fate has taken that as some sort of challenge and proceeded to prove me hideously wrong. I'm just going to count my blessings.

My wonderful family. Every day, led by my amazing wife, they prove their love by being a bedrock of support and care. They also resist the undoubted urge to weigh me down with stones and toss me into the river. I'm not the easiest person to live with and their fortitude is incredible. The added bonus of a grandson is a delicious icing on an already awesome cake.

I'm also blessed with fantastic and supportive Aunts. Love to them and all the Uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. I rarely see them beyond Facebook but I'm always fascinated by their lives. Keep on sharing.

My friends. I don't distinguish between those online and off. I interact with many people who I've never shared the same hemisphere with let alone met. Social media also allows me to stay connected with much loved friends who I've spent huge chunks of my life with. People who have helped shape who I am. I'm truly blessed by their continued presence. I will try harder to be more present myself (okay that's one resolution)

My life. It certainly has it's challenges but when all is said and done it's considerably better than the alternative. Sure I spend a large chunk of time in virtual worlds (games, books, TV and movies) and that smooths the sharp edges of reality but all told I really mustn't grumble. If you want the grumbling read my blog OhWTAF dot com <--- fake!

Anyhow this has gone on way to long (TWSS) it'll be skipped over by many but if you have got this far hugs and kisses.

Summing up....

I LOVE YOU ALL
