The New 5th Generation HDHomeRun CONNECT has launched in the USA and there have been many questions regarding launch in other regions globally, here is some detail:

There is a 2 tuner (replacing current CONNECT with a slimmer, sleek metal enclosure design, with same great function) and a new 4 tuner model offering more tuners with one antenna input to increase your base tuner count or add to your existing tuners.

These have launched in USA only at this time.
Other regional role outs will continue into mid to late 2018 (4 tuner HDHomeRun QUATRO is sold exclusively through Best Buy USA through Dec 31st)

Canada is in the additional certification process required and has the same signal type as USA (ATSC) so will be next and expected before the end of 2017

UK EU AU NZ devices use DVB-T or DVB-T2 (different hardware / guts) signals and those are in the production and certification processes now.

Roll out will begin in UK retail in January and continue to Q1 2018 for EU, AU and NZ markets. These require more on the certification side than other regions. Which takes significantly more time.

ISDB-T for LATAM are in development and will be later in 2018 or early 2019. These have completely different insides than ATSC or DVB models.

Thank you for your interest in HDHomeRun tuners and the huge positive response to our 5th Generation CONNECT tuners.

Over 10 years since Gen1 and we have some of them still active in customers' homes. Live TV streaming in homes since 2007.

Remember
HDHomeRun tuners are network attached meaning you don't need to necessary replace older HDHomeRun hardware. Instead increase your home's tuner count by adding more or mixing and matching multiple types of HDHomeRun devices.

Enjoy.

I've had HDHomerun tuners now for years. Used them with many different software solutions: too many to list. Purchased the HDHomerun DVR, which works well. I'm also subscribed to Channels DVR service, which works nice too. Started with a DUAL years ago, using EyeTV on my Mac/iDevices. Then added a CONNECT, Now, I might add an EXTEND. I have had a good, solid, 802.11ac network for years (Apple TimeCapsule Airport), which works with the HDHomerun tuners fine. EyeTV worked ok, but not great. Added HDHomerun to Plex, which works ok. Can get to tuners from Kodi on my Raspberry Pi''s, which is cool. Nice to see HDHomerun getting into the software game themselves by adding DVR. Question though: how can you set where your recordings are saved to? I'd rather have my recordings saved to my external HDD instead of directly on my Mac. Thanks.

I have the extend and Quattro connected through PLEX. They work great. The beauty of PLEX as your DVR is the commercial removal.

I also have a TIVO, which I can’t remember the last time I used it. 😎

We support and pass through any 4k available streams now. Since we are Native Pass through it all depends then on the rendering device to support the 4k stream (i.e. FireTV AppleTV4 Nvidia Shield)

4k ATSC 3.0 is a future story and not related to this query

My HDHomeRun DUAL from 2011 still works great with my SageTV server! That said, it's at the bottom of my tuner priority list because my Hauppauge Colossus cards offer hardware h264 encoding and the HDHR only does MPEG2. When you do a lot of recording, the space difference adds up quickly (and storage=$$$)!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE offer hardware h264 encoding on future products!!!!! (I know the Extend does h264 "transcoding," but everything I've read indicates it's only for live streaming from the HDHR and won't work for making recordings on SageTV/Plex/WMC-type DVR platforms.) I'd love to add more HDHR tuners to my system (both OTA and CableCard), but the MPEG2 con costs me real money and outweighs all of your many, many pros.

There has also been numerous inquiries about a fifth generation 6 tuner Prime.... That's been avoided like the plague!

Can us non-cord cutting money spenders get a hint on when each of us throw a few hundred dollars at you? Please?

Any word on Prime in relation to TWC and copy flags? I want to buy, but am afraid I can't DVR which is something I need for time shifting. Also, what is the Guide charge for? To maintain the guide or pay my local cable company?

The fact that there are no other live tv app based solutions out should be an indication that this is a monumental task tied to huge fines if content is not protected properly.
Our KS project was for DVR which included DRM support as part of the overall project and is still a key to Silicondust and our tuners. We continue to work on this development

No one is more anxious to get this out than our own team. We appreciate your impatience as there are no true live alternatives. But those who can wait will rejoice once it's out
And we'll still be here for you.

I have an early, early gen 1 still in in use, and currently a prime for cablecard with WMC. Being that cable encryption never became what I thought it would be and that we really only watch OTA channels 99% of the time, looking to move back to OTA. This 4 tuner, single input rig looks great, but will wait until I don't have to deal with best buy.

Currently using a couple of older Connects with Windows Media Center for watching and DVR'ing OTA TV. The current train of thought is to replace it with HDHomerun with the DVR option/guide subscription at the time WMC goes end of life (soon approaching). Would be interesting to see if there are any plans for your company to anticipate/ease the transition for users like myself.
