About Softball Smarts
In sports, particularly fastpitch softball, game success is ultimately 90% mental and all the private hitting, pitching, conditioning and speed instruction alone isn't going to improve what's going on between her ears. Mastery of her "mental game" is essential to overcome the inevitable adversity the game of fastpitch will throw at every athlete and team. Without proper mental game education an athlete or team will always ride the emotional roller coaster of inconsistent performance and fall far short of their true athletic potential.
Softball Smarts is the brainchild of John Michael Kelly, "America's Sports Confidence Coach." As a sports parent, author, championship game coach, mental game expert, former youth league Board member and former two sport collegiate athlete John brings a unique perspective and voice to the world of youth sports.
John has been coaching youth sports since 1996, including soccer and baseball, and exclusively fastpitch softball since 2003 at the recreational, All Star, travel, high school college showcase levels.
John has coached over 1,200 youth softball games and currently coaches at the 18u and 18 Gold levels with The Next Level (TNL) travel softball organization in San Diego, CA.
John is known for getting the very best from his players and teams through the use of proven mental game strategies that nurture and propel sports confidence and game performance levels to soar! John also coaches numerous athletes one-on-one from coast-to-coast on mastering their mental game.
