Sarx exists to serve God by witnessing to Christ’s love for all Creation.
This includes activities such:
• Encouraging prayer and Biblical reflection
• Raising awareness of animal theology
• Political advocacy
• Challenging animal injustice and cruelty
• Resourcing church communities
• Promoting of ethical and meat-free lifestyles.
In entering the world, scripture says Christ put on flesh.
The word flesh, or "sarx" in the original Greek, is a word which encompasses humans and animals alike.
In putting on this flesh, Christ shared many creaturely experiences that are common to all animals across a wide spectrum of species such as hunger, happiness, sickness, pain, bereavement, fear, etc.
It is through the flesh that Christ came alongside all He made in love and it is by the work of His flesh that all things are made new.
