Hato has reportedly dissipated to a Tropical Depression. The remnants of the storm are expected to continue moving west over southern China. Five people were killed in storm-related incidents in Macau, one in Hong Kong, and four in Zhuhai, with each city experiencing flooding. At least 20 people were also injured in Macau. Macau International Airport (MFM) reopened after being closed, but numerous flight disruptions remained. There were also flight delays and cancellations at Shenzhen Bao an International Airport (SZX), Zhuhai Jinwan Airport (ZUH), and Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). Trains were disrupted in Guangdong, Jiangxi, and Fujian Provinces, as were MTR trains in Hong Kong, and ferries between Hong Kong and Macau. Widespread power outages occurred in Macau and briefly in Guangdong. The Port of Hong Kong temporarily suspended operations, but they were later beginning to come back online. Over 4,000 people were evacuated in coastal areas of Fuzhou and Zhangzhou in Fujian Province due to the storm, while over 26,000 were temporarily evacuated near Zhuhai. Residual storm-related disruptions are likely to persist in some areas.
