Diverse rural young women raised many critical issues from their different locations which includes the huge burden the current scholarship structure places on students and parents on the repayment.
We are notMehr supporting our children to access education, we are raising our children to pay debts and that places huge financial burden on the society as whole. The call to abolish the TELS system rang loud and reinstate the normal scholarships used to be awarded and the bridging the disparity in accessing to technology for those in the remote areas.
They also called for the inclusion of young women's voices to be included in all different levels of decision-making.

This data was collected in a survey method by femLINKpacific from the Rural Women Leaders Community Media Network across the Western Division (Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Nadi, Lautoka), Northern Division (Bua,Mehr Savusavu and Labasa) and the Central Division (Lami and Nausori). While 'Food Security' is a top concern from the Central Division, “Leadership and Equal Representation' is the top concern from both the Western and Northern Divisions.

These indicate that women see their issues at communal level being directly affected by the type of leadership and representation they're exposed to and at national level. Women's representation for political security is a fundamental pre-requisite for gender equality and genuine democracy.
