About Dastango
The idea of daastaangoi came from attending a worskshop by Danish Hussain and Mahmood Farooqui, who have tried to revive the tradition of daastaangoi in India, following somewhat in the footsteps of Delhi's famous daastaango of his time, Mir Baqir Ali.
Therefore we do not profess to do anything new. Our daastaangoi is mainly inspired by what Danish Hussain and Mahmood Faarooqui do and partly from what we have learnt from our teacher Mr. Zia Mohyeddin. We are merely trying to revive this tradition of daastaangoi. Nothing more.
