FLORIDA MAN AND HIS DOG IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING SABINE PURSUIT INTO NATCHITOCHES PARISH
(Robeline)-If you were traveling or live on La. Hwy 6 West in Natchitoches Parish around lunch time and saw a motorcyclist and his dog running from the police. This is what happened:
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies say a pursuit involving a motorcyclist in Sabine Parish then over into Natchitoches Parish has ended with 1 person in custody according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 11:52am, the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Office contacted NATCOM 911 Center requesting assistance reporting Sabine Parish Sheriff's Deputies were in pursuit of a motorcycle on La. Hwy 6 entering Natchitoches Parish.
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies joined in as the pursuit continued eastbound through Robeline, Hagewood, then the I-49 corridor to near Parc Natchitoches.
The motorcyclist and his passenger, a dog then turned traveling westbound at speeds near 100 mph back through the Hagewood community then Robeline where he was stopped shortly thereafter in Sabine Parish.
The suspect from Florida was taken into custody without incident.
There were no injuries.
The scene is still active.
Robeline and Louisiana State Police assisted.
Sabine Parish Sheriff's Deputies will issue further information as it becomes available.
For inquiries the dog is fine.
Sabine Parish Sheriff's Deputies have dropped the dog off at Sabine Humane Society for safekeeping until the offender is released.
