No information on guard regiments this time either. lots of interesting information, but I still wonder if there is a chance for any rules to make different regiment be more than optional minis. Marnies have chapteractics and I would love something like that for the guard so that i can play my catachans like catachans and not shirtles cadians without going down in the basement and getting my 3rd ed stuff (theres a spider down there, and he looks a bit shifty)

"If your army is built using Formations right now, you’re going to be fine. " How does this even remotely match up with the rules for tactical reserves if one has an army built on drop pod formations, like Skyhammer formations? Or will those armies now be forced to play only Narrative/Open instead of Matched?

18 months to make the new versions - so every time that some GW peeps said "we're not sigmarising 40k" was lying through their teeth.
And wont be phasing out the old marines in favour of the new primaris marines... but every chapter will have "access" to them and all marines can "upgrade" ... so over months GW can totally phase out the normal marines... but really wont use it as an excuse for taller everything and new rhinos (plus variants) ... noooo of course not, and with the recent level of truthfulness we have no reason to doubt their word.

1) We've seen rules referencing different things like <Chapter>, <Sept>, and <Hive Fleet>. Will these rules be similar to current Chapter Tactics and Legion rules?
2) For Necrons, will the various C'tan (Nightbringer, Deceiver, Transcendent) have distinct rules again or will we go back to generic C'tan? Also, what will their role be on the battlefield - big threats that wade into the opponent, or more like heavy support for the troops?
3) With Templates gone, will there be a way to shoot at multiple units with those heavy weapons or will they be more focused at destroying one unit at a time?
Thanks for doing this stuff!

One of the fun aspects about 40K for me, is the idea of siege warfare. Heroic charges into the breach and heroic last stands all play a major part in 40K. However, these type of games seem to be largely passed over in the table top. Other than a few specific fortifications, a lot of them are hardly taken. So I have a few questions regarding Fortifications and Buildings.
'Will Fortifications be getting their own updated rules for 8th edition or will they be lumped in with all buildings'?
6th edition brought fortifications into normal play in a standard FoC. In 7th edition they had been mostly limited to CAD and Unbound with very few options in formations for them.
'Will 8th edition make them more readily available for play in Battle Forged armies by being included in more detachments?'
'Will we be seeing any Siege War type missions in 8th with their own objectives and stratagems?'
Some armies like Necron and Eldar do not have fortifications. Xenos as a whole lack basic terrain for the battlefield.
'Would it be likely to expect to see some non-Imperial fortifications similar to what you did for the T'au in the future?'
'Can we expect to see some non-Imperial buildings and other terrain to represent battles on Xenos worlds?'
Over the years you have produced small terrain items for different sets such as the Tyranids terrain bits in the Battle for Macragge set.
'Would it be possible for you to bring back small terrain items like that to sell in sets for purchase or possibly make new ones for each army?'
A long time ago I bought a Citadel book on how to build terrain and how to paint it up for game use.
'Would it be possible to get an updated version of such a book?'
'Would it be possible to get terrain building tutorial videos similar to what Duncan does for painting?'

Also like the hit vs. save mechanic more than Warcry's Strength vs. Toughness, since both players get to roll dice.
Very, very promising so far.

Everything I have seen so far for the new edition of Kill Team seems very promising indeed. As a Ravenguard and Tyranids player, I am especially interested in seeing how Phobos armoured troop types function in the game, along with trying to imagine how nasty something like a Lictor - which was created to excel at just such combat as this in the Tyranid lore - could be. I imagine units like Drukharri Mandrakes will also be fairly nightmarish (appropriately enough given their lore), as might something like a Hexmark Destroyer. There is all kinds of potential here.

Tbh this looks like it’s intended to reduce the amount of minutiae involved and speed up gameplay. It’s a skirmish game, it needs to be fun, fast and brutal. I felt the previous edition had a bit too much bittyness for the type of game it was.

Quick question about saving against critical hits. If model A gets a hit and a critical hit, I then roll two dice and get two successful saves. Do I get to decide how I use them? I could say I use both dice to block the critical hit and let the regular hit go through or do I have to use one regular save on the regular hit?

I find this a bit odd; given all 4 attacks on a lasgun need to get through to kill another guardsman (or 3 attacks with 1 or more criticals), im guessing 1 lasgun can't kill a space marine in 1 turn - also I hope bolt guns have crazy high damage so that just 1 or 2 hits kill a guardsman
