What's your favourite 'one-hit wonder'?
Chris Bishop
Hate to be a pedant (he lies), but McAlmont & Butler had a follow-up hit with (the almost as glorious) "You Do".
As far as one-hit wonders go, Althea & Donna's Uptown Top Ranking takes some beating.

Why do we use the expression, "One Hit Wonder." Technically the Clash was a one hit wonder. Six Pence None the Richer actually had 3 top 40 hits. For the first part of Peter Gabriel's solo career he was considered a OHW too and he was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. We need to respect these artists more...

Can we have a few older writers please? Also, how can you possibly include Sixpence None The Shitter's Kiss Me while neglecting Lisa Loeb's Stay?

Don't Close Your Eyes by Kix. A legend where I'm from as before Horse Lords, Wye Oak, Virulence, this was the Baltimore band. And it was featured in our county's anti-drunk driving videos.

Whenever I think of Amerie I then think of Lumidee - Never Leave You. Somehow amazing despite her voice not being average at best.

Ah didn't realise it was on a staff mailout thingy. I'm actually happy to still be in it as long as you don't expect me to actually write much!

At the time I hated it but, as I've got older, I think The Connells' "74-75" is sublime.
Whale's "Hobo Humpin' Slobo Babe" is still awesome.
Stakka Bo's "Here We Go Again" is still pretty great too.
