Peering
To support the Facebook product family, Facebook operates an
international network (AS32934) and welcomes the opportunity to
engage in peering with responsible BGP speakers that meet our minimum
requirements and are present at mutual Internet Exchanges or
data-center facilities.
Peering Policy
Facebook operates peering with two different autonomous systems
(AS Numbers):
- AS32934, which is the global AS and provides access to most Facebook products and is the most common peering option
- AS63293, provides Facebook's most popular content and peers at a smaller number of locations
- A public and visible ASN
- Up-to-date PeeringDB entry, including 24x7 NOC Contact
- BGP session authentication using MD5 is NOT required
Public Peering Requirements
We prefer to have bi-lateral sessions configured across all common
Internet Exchanges, with networks we serve traffic to.
