CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: THE CONGRESSIONAL
ART COMPETITION DEADLINE IS ONLY TEN DAYS AWAY
Washington, DC – Rep. Bill Keating wants to remind all high school students in his district that the deadline to participate in the US House of Representatives’ Annual Artistic Discovery Contest is steadily approaching.
“I encourage all high school students to participate in this competition, and look forward to eventually walking through the US Capitol exhibit with the winner from our district,” said Rep. Keating.
The Congressional Art Contest is open to all high school students in the 10th district. Participants must submit their pieces for a district-wide competition. The winning submission for the 10th Congressional District will be displayed for one year in the US Capitol in an exhibit with the winning submissions from other congressional districts across the nation.
All works of art entered in the contest may be up to 28 inches by 28 inches and may be up to 4 inches in depth.

Every high school in the 10th district has received information about this competition. If students have questions or need additional information, they should contact their school's art teacher. Students can also contact Danielle Hennessey in Rep. Keating’s Quincy District Office at 617-770-3700.
The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.
