I will take no further action to contest this election.

For two weeks since Election Day, we have been working to ensure every vote is counted accurately and fairly. We have made progress towards that goal, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and their unrelenting efforts to protect the integrity of the democratic process. While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election.

While there are certainly still inaccuracies in the results, and the actions of the St. Lucie County and Palm Beach County Supervisors of Elections rightly raise questions in my mind and for many voters, after much analysis and this past weekend's recount in St. Lucie County, our legal team does not believe there are enough over-counted, undercounted or fraudulent votes to change the outcome of the election.

While a contest of the election results might have changed the vote totals, we do not have evidence that the outcome would change. Given the extremely high evidentiary hurdles involved in a successful challenge, I will not ask my generous supporters to help fund a drawn-out, expensive legal effort with little chance of success. Therefore, we will not contest the certification or challenge the seating of Congressman-elect Murphy.

Serving the people in the House of Representatives has been among the highest honors of my life, but this seat does not belong to me, or for that matter, to any individual. It belongs to the people.

I want to congratulate my opponent, Patrick Murphy, as the new Congressman from the 18th Congressional District. I pray he will serve his constituents with honor and integrity, and put the interests of our nation before his own.

I must thank my wife Angela, and my daughters Aubrey and Austen for their support, patience, understanding and most of all, love. These are three of the toughest women I know. They have sent me off to defend our nation overseas at war, and to Capitol Hill to serve our nation in the House of Representatives. They have all handled the challenges of these last few months, and the last many years, with amazing grace. I know they will be by my side for whatever is our next chapter.

I want to thank my congressional and campaign staff for their service, and most importantly, I want to thank all of our tremendous supporters who provided their time and money to power our campaign. I am humbled by the dedication and perseverance of our supporters, and their commitment to a free and prosperous America. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our campaign, but most importantly, what they have done, and will continue to do for our country. None of us should let the outcome discourage us. We should only redouble our resolve.

Above all, I want to thank God for his blessings, and for blessing me with the opportunity to serve.

Only God knows what is in store for each of us. I have dedicated my life to serving this nation, and the results of this election will not change my purpose. Just as I did in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan, just as I did on Capitol Hill, I will continue to fight for our Republic.

Our nation will not overcome our challenges overnight, and the road ahead for each one of us will not be easy. But this nation would never have become that shining beacon of light if our founders had chosen the easy path 236 years ago. We all must proudly continue their legacy.

For the protection and preservation of our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, I shall remain steadfast and loyal. God bless you and God bless these United States of America

Congressman West has conceded that his loss was beyond the margin of .5% percent needed for a full recount and that he lost the election. His demand for a recount resulted in votes for his opponent being counted. Every legitimate vote should count, regardless the victor, a point lost on morally bankrupt partisans.

Open a book some time, and read about the fall of the Roman Empire. It did not happen overnight there, either. Devalued currency, loss of values, unsustainable debt. I see a lot of vicious personal insults and painting with a broad brush about political parties. The national debt will eventually lead to economic collapse, and it will not be a pretty picture, and people will be lucky to eat from garbage cans, regardless political affiliation.

To put it simply, as far as your question about an Obama reelection and the fall of empires past and the relation to economics, it is pretty simple.

Here is the USA, under a two party system, the RNC and DNC give the illusion of choice. Look at George W Bush and Barack H Obama's track record of mounting trillion dollar deficits. Obama will continue trillion dollar deficits. Romney would have continued trillion dollar deficits, just on different items.

Niamh, instead of talking about history, Obama, what happens if you continually overdraft your bank account, borrow (or steal) from the bank account of every person you know, until all their savings are depleted? What happens if you take other people's food, until there is none left? The Federal Reserve can continue printing paper currency until they run out of paper, but that does not produce the necessities of life like food, drink, shelter, medicine.

Are you familiar with the history of the Roman Empire? They were at perpetual war to support the state. They eventually devalued their precious metal backed currency, until it was worthless and they could not pay their troops or sustain their empire and collapsed from within.

There are many reasons why particular nations rise and fall. I gave a very specific example of the United States and the Roman Empire because there are similarities, and as is often said, those that forget their history, or ignore it, are doomed to repeat it.

As far as skewed or distorted election numbers in the Kennedy-Nixon race, and its relevance to Allen West, there were some quite apparent irregularities in St Lucie election districts. This lead to an improper or inaccurate vote tabulation. I do not think Congressman elect Murphy was responsible for these irregularities, but are you suggesting they did not exist?

As far as the USA GNP being larger than the GNP of several other nations, that is like saying the NY Yankees make more money than any other baseball franchise, without taking into account they have the largest expenditures of any team. The USA spends far more on defense and entitlements than any other nation or nations combined. I hope you are not an accountant.

Iraq Torturer Loses Recount Because of “Not Enough Stolen Votes”

Two weeks after the end of the election, AllenWest, the mouthy and moderately illiterate Tea Party stooge from Florida’s St. Lucie County admitted losing his seat in congress after one term.

West had accused his democratic opponent of stealing votes and demanded a recount. However, after only one precinct it was shown that the republicans had actually been stealing votes and West was even further behind.

He quickly ordered a stop to the recount.

What would have been discovered? Instead of the 200 votes he lost almost immediately, clearly stolen votes, the number might have gone into the thousands.

West, perhaps the worst behaved member of congress in some time, won’t be missed.

It is my considered opinion that the only way he got into office in the first place was through mistaken name recognition. Voters thought he was “Adam West,” the actor who played Batman during they heyday of that television series in the 1960s.

West continually reminded everyone, voters, children, small animals, even inert objects, of his heroic service in the United States Army in Iraq.

West left the army, resigning after accepting an Article 15, the military equivalent of pleading “no contest” to charges of torturing prisoners.

West claims his men had tortured a known terrorist who wasn’t cooperating to his satisfaction. West admits to firing a weapon near the mans head, a man who had been beaten and nearly drowned for hours.

Others say West staged a mock execution.

West claims he was trying to save his men by gaining intelligence.

However, the facts disagree.

The “terror suspect” turned out to be an innocent bystander, as with 98% of those picked up as “terror suspects.”

After hours of torture, the “suspect” invented wild stories of terror hideouts and caches of weapons.

West’s unit followed each lead, a “wild goose chase” that may well have cost the lives of his entire command.

Were West an enlisted man, he would have received a dishonorable discharge.

As an officer, he was given the choice of resignation or facing a court martial, dismissal and prison.

A funny thing, with that kind of military record, most who served would not have been qualified even to vote in an election much less serve in congress.

Those who serve “honorably” are not forced to resign or face court martial.

They are criminals.

Maybe West should have been re-elected.

He would have had good company.
