An Update to Facebook Ads

Facebook and Privacy

Last year, we announced some changes to simplify Facebook ads, including eliminating different types of ads that had the same purpose and making our ads look more consistent. We also announced that marketers will no longer be able to purchase sponsored stories separately; instead, social context — stories about social actions your friends have taken, such as liking a page or checking in to a restaurant — is now eligible to appear next to all ads shown to friends on Facebook.

This week, we gave notice to our ad partners that this change relating to sponsored stories will start in the first quarter of this year so they can update their tools and continue supporting the marketers they work with.

So what does this mean for people on Facebook? As before, you are in control of who sees what you post on Facebook, whether it appears in News Feed, next to ads, or elsewhere on Facebook. You can visit your Activity Log to see who can see stories about your social actions and change the audience or unlike or delete the content at any time.

In addition, you can visit your Ads and Friends setting to limit when stories about your social actions are paired with ads shown to friends.

Hello. I still receive these animated dirty video ads on my fb and on my page. Pls disconnect me, I don't want it , never asked for it either; and there's no tick box for them to be removed. I am NOT willing to receive these ads, never contacted any cougar ou bordel or prostitutes pages or sites so I can't understand how you impose them on my pages and on the scroll list of posts by my friens. It's a terrible nuisance. I keep reporting and it still goes on. I formally ask you to disconnect these things please on top and on the side too. I appreciate your taking this into immediate account. 이 신문은 북중관계자를 인용해 “평양뿐만 아니라 국경 도시에서도 ‘중국의 개 사냥’ 이라고 불리는 적발이 진행돼 3000명 이상이 추방됐다”고 전했다.

작년 12월 장성택 처형 이후 군 사찰부대와 비밀 경찰이 수도인 평양지역뿐만 아니라 북중 국경의 거리, 혜산시와 무산시, 경제특구인 나선시 등에 파견돼 무역업자, 중국인을 대상으로 한 호텔과 카지노 종사자, 탈북자 가족 등을 체포·구속해 3000명 이상을 산간 지방으로 추방했다는 것이다.

이는 김정은 노동당 제1비서가 “중국의 개 사냥을 무자비하게 진행하라”고 지시했기 때문이라는 것으로 전해졌다.

‘중국의 개’는 김정일 시대부터 북한 비밀경찰 내에서 사용된 은어로 중국과 내통하거나 중국의 지령을 받고 활동하는 당과 국가, 군대의 고위층 간부와 인물을 지칭한다.

Dear FB, although I have not made friend requests of anyone I don't know, and I have monitored my own page for any pending friend requests, of which there have been none, and even though I continue to change my password and ensure that no one has access to my account (because I have not given my password to my two cats), you have continued to ban me from making friend requests repeatedly, for months now.

You have failed to respond to my requests under the FOIA for proof of these alleged friend requests. You have also failed to lift the bans or respond to my correspondence in a timely manner.

Your actions also limit my existing conversations and group conversations with people I know, work with, work for, raise money with or for, to include support groups and veterans groups.

In short, your actions are not only discriminatory, but also negligent and malicious.

As there have been no unwanted friend requests made (because everyone requested has accepted) and because you have provided zero proof and zero response, the only real, existing basis for your actions are discriminatory retaliation against my outspoken views on Constitutional Rights, Veterans Affairs, Washington corruption, White House Corruption, and for sharing the firsthand accounts from the special forces veterans on the ground in Benghazi.

You cannot have "too many complaints" from people you don't know, when you're not making any friend requests to people you don't know... especially when you're barely making any friend requests at all!!

As promised, my complaints are in the process of being filed with a whole litany of agencies, including, but not limited to, the FCC, the Texas State Attorney General's Office, the California State Attorney General's Office, the Offices of the Governor for the states of Texas and California, the United States Attorney General, and other state and federal law enforcement agencies to investigate complaints of censure, discrimination, violation of freedom of speech, harassment, cyber bullying, interference with national and international communications, and a few other issues.

I was nice and polite many months ago when asked "What is this all about" What the heck are you talking about?"

Now I'm well beyond the "WTF is your problem?" stage.

I am a well-known, easy-going, disabled Army combat veteran who spends time raising money for veterans and survivor families. I put the freedom of the people of this nation first... and unlike press secretary Jay Carney, Freedom is not a "buzzword" for me.

You have failed to operate in good faith or respond to requests in a timely manner.

Knowing the system by which the networks develop leads for stories, I am utilizing my writing skills and experience as a journalist, to make sure that my story about FB and how it's either a bully or it's being hacked daily, is out there on every public forum from Facebook to RipOff dot com.

The last thing I need is to be using a product that is either run by idiots or is being hacked on a regular basis... because it most certainly is one of the two, and I'm done with trying to be nice and work with an unresponsive cyber entity that is nothing more than some rich child's play toy with no more thought about the user than how much ad space can be sold on each sidebar.

No worries though, I'm due to be in California in a few weeks and time allowing, I can pay a visit to the HQ and settle this in person... since you've simply avoided me and my inquiries-turn-demands.

Why all of a sudden is Facebook blocking me on a feature for going to fast , this is ridiculous as both my hands are crippled with arthritis and I can only use one finger !!!!!!! Also I'm deeply distressed that my friends birthday reminders have been removed from my newsfeed !!!....I have a few other niggles but on the whole Facebook has opened up a fantastic, exciting world for me as I'm housebound , through Facebook I have made many wonderful friends all over the world, I am totally addicted to Facebook and couldn't imagine life without it ...ii hope you'll resolve my problems soon as it's depressing me ..thank you xox

If have to put up with your offensive, banal and ubiquitous ads 24/7 (never did I invite them to my page!) so...why can I not invite all of my friends to as many events as I please and as often as I please? hotmail kendi mail hesabını kullanmadıgı için hesabı siliyor... fakat facebook devam ediyor... arkadaşın veya kalabalık bir calısma ortamında veya kafelerde yüzlerce kişi aynı ip adresini kullanıyor... ve ... aklınıza gelen gelen ilk hotmail hesabını, hotmail hesabından almaya calısın bir kac denemede mutlaka bir hesap alacaksınız... ve onu facebook girişinde deneyin şifremi unuttum deyin.. hemen anında şifre mail adresine geliyor..

bunun nedeni şu.... insanların kullanım sekli degişti... herkes facebook kullanıyor.. görüntülü.. hatta mailleri bile artık ordan atıyor...

fakat mail adresinin tehlikede oldugunu bilmiyor.. çünki 2 veya 3 ay hotmail veya başka mail adreslerinin sitelerini kullanmadıkları için site yetkilileri mail hesaplarını siliyor... deneme yapın.. birkaçtane ..( mesela selena010134 veya ladyy3401 veya alacakarnalık0121 gibi bunları salladım.. esasında hergün 50 mail hesabını surekli alın dedim ama önmeli olanlar vardır.. oyuzden bana yardımcı olmanızı bekliyorum. )

kalabalık bir kafede... veya işyerinde internet kafede okullarda üniversitelerde... ip adresi tek. oldugu için facebook direk algılıyor. ve şifreyi gönderiyor...

sonuç.. ya facebook kendisi bir hosting saglıyacak.... mail uzantılarını kendisi verecek... veya hotmail veya diger firmalara mail adreslerini koruma altına almalarını saglıcak... şimdiden kolay gelsin... bu acık gercekten cok tehlikeli....

herkesin hesabı yani... hotmail sitesini kullanmayan ve mail adreslerini kendi hosttinglerinde sitelerinde kullanmayan tonla insan var..
çünki ihtiyac kalmadı... ama tehlikeyi bilmiyorlar...
