I am happy to announce that The Digital Filmmaker Workshop is planning to come to the Washington, DC area in late October. This workshop is taught by myself and documentary filmmaker PF Bentley. Take your vision to the next level. Start creating polished documentaries and cinematic journalism. Begin to see our visual world with new potential.  You will complete your own film in five days.
 
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Media professionals such as photojournalists, wedding photographers and videographers, corporate visual managers and staff, military personnel, educators, network news camerapersons and anyone who wants to make professional films for broadcast and online.
 
BYOG: Bring Your Own Gear. 
You need a Canon or Nikon HD-DSLR camera* with at least one lens, a MacBookPro laptop with the latest FCP 7 and some audio gear such as a Sennheiser ME-64 with Beachtek adapter or H4N type audio recorder.  A wireless kit would be nice to have, but not essential.  You should also have a Zacuto Z-Finder or similar model to better focus and compose on the LCD screen. *The workshop will be primarily taught using HDSLRs and with Final Cut Pro, but all the techniques and principles translate to using any video camera or editing system. We welcome users of other platforms & systems to the workshop too.
 
This is an intermediate level workshop. You need to have camera and editing experience on your editing system with a few projects under your belt. This is a hands-on working workshop. You’ll be shooting, editing and unlike other workshops, you’ll be critiqued on your work: the good, the bad and the ugly.
 
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Audio mixing, color grading, music, narration, titles, using master templates and other editing plug-ins, story structure, multicam shooting and editing, working with portable dollies and jibs, compression, uploading and distribution of your finished product, marketing yourself and the business of documentaries and more.
 
PF and I are bringing The Digital Filmmaker Workshop to your town; no travel costs, planes or hotels – you get to sleep in your own bed at night!
 
Five full-on days 8:30am to 8:30pm, workshop is limited to 15 people. $995 per person.
