KEATING ANNOUNCES FIREFIGHTER GRANT FOR PEMBROKE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Bill Keating, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, announced a total of $467,243 in Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) for the Pembroke Fire Department. This money will go toward the purchase of new communications equipment for the department.
“It is always important to recognize the great responsibilities that our firefighters bear each and every day,” said Rep. Keating. “I know I speak for many when I say that I am thankful for the work our firefighters do to keep us safe. This funding will help the Pembroke Fire Department in providing this vital service, and it is my honor to do what I can to help those who work so hard to protect us.”
Pembroke Fire Chief James Neenan expressed the Department’s gratitude for the funding. “This grant will allow us to upgrade the entire department’s communications system,” he said. “This improved system will enhance the fire department’s ability to provide rescue, live-saving and public safety service to the people of Pembroke.”
