Photo Contest Rules and Regulations
ASU Sustainability Connect
We are hosting a photo contest for the ASU community! Students, Faculty and Staff are invited to submit photos in five different categories:

Community Engagement

How are you making your community more sustainable?
2.
What long term projects in your community are inspiring to you?
2.
Research for Good
1.
Are you involved in research that is good for the planet?
2.
Is there research you’re involved in that could in some way be sustainable or solve sustainability problems?
3.
Sun Devil Sustainability
1.
What sustainable feature on campus inspires you?
2.
Where are there room for improvements on campus or where on our campuses do you want to make a change?
4.
International Outreach
1.
How have you made a difference in your travels abroad?
2.
What sustainable practices have you seen abroad that you’d want to bring to the United States?
5.
My Sustainable Life
1.
What are you changing in your life to create a more sustainable future?
2.
Is there something sustainable you’ve done in the past year that you’re proud of?
This is a great way to document New Year’s resolutions, to reflect upon the past year or to review. We look forward to seeing your photos.
Eligibility Requirements
•
Photo submissions must be original work (no professional photos with logos or watermarks will be accepted) and must have been taken by the contestant.
•
This contest is open to the entire ASU community. You do not need to be affiliated with the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability or the School of Sustainability as long as the images capture a facet of sustainability.
Submission Instructions
•
Images must be at least 1 MB in size with dpi 300 or higher (in order to be enlarged for large format printing without pixelation).
•
Digital images must be uploaded using the online submission form linked at the bottom of this page. No e-mail submissions or prints will be accepted.
•
Each photo submitted should include a photo caption and photo location. If there are multiple students in the photo, please include their names.
•
Photos may be in color, black and white or sepia.
•
Photo formats accepted are .jpg or .png.
•
No more than two (2) photos may be submitted per category by each participant and each photo may only be submitted to one category. For example you cannot submit one photo to all five (5) categories. You must pick the category the photo best fits.
Judging
Photos will be evaluated by a team of judges comprised of a combination of members of the ASU Sustainability Connect staff and our campus partners. Decisions are final.
Prize
Grand prize: A gift bag that includes the following items:

(1) stainless steel reusable water bottle
•
(1) Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability T-shirt from Homecoming 2017
•
(1) 2GB Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability thumb drive
•
(2) Seed packets
•
(1) Pen made of recycled plastics
•
(1) Sustainability sticker
Grand Prize
Winners will be asked to submit a description of the photograph so it can be used in a professional setting or displayed on the Sustainability Connect website or social media pages. It may be displayed in or around our campus partners' offices. In addition, photos will be used on social media, and in digital and print promotions for Sustainability Connect, ASU’s School of Sustainability and ASU at-large.
Deadline
Contest runs through Friday, February 16, 2018.
Terms and Conditions
By entering the contest, you are giving the ASU Sustainability Connect permission to use your photo(s) and other information/comments submitted in various marketing activities, publications and/or the web for the purpose of promoting Sustainability at Arizona State University. All photos, not just winning photos, may be used by ASU Sustainability Connect for the purposes noted above.
