FAQ:

1.Why does AirAsia conduct system migration?
We perform system migration in preparation for the move of our Medan operations to Kualanamu International Airport on 25 July 2013. The move requires us to switch the airport code from MES to MDA (temporary code between 16 – 24 July 2013) and to KNO (Kualanamu International Airport) from 25 July 2013 onwards.

2. Why does AirAsia have to implement MDA as a temporary code prior to KNO?
Technically, MDA code is required to accommodate passengers’ booking to and from Medan during the transition period. The MDA code itself will be valid for online booking between 16 July 2013 and 24 July 2013, prior to the first day of Kualanamu operations that is scheduled for 25 July 2013. From 25 July onwards, the code will be permanently switched to KNO.

Air Asia should invest in Customer Service - The customer service response is poor - using eform/web chat these representatives do not help or can advise any validation or accurate information. My flights have been suspended and been waiting for a response from AirAsia. Rated very poor customer service!!
