@Jorge ... subscriptions fees pay to keep a server running smoothly, being able to increase capacity (as in today) etc... There are plenty of free to play MMO's out there if that is how you feel. (Vindictus, Champions, etc...) They don't have the support, the world size, you have to pay real money for some items, but still good games. As for the rest of us, DC is awesome, has great gameplay, fun storyline, tons of pvp and Batman, Superman and all of our childhood heroes to boot....can't imagine a better way to spend 50 cents a day.

They did not expect this big of a response. That is my guess anyhow. They are expanding the servers to allow more people in and to stabilize the servers. I also would not be surprised if they are fixing bugs right now. The monthly fee IS for things lile this to make the gane more stable and flat out better. I am happt they are doing this now instead of ignoring everything.

Ha Ha..play soon enough...whole site for the most part has been down since 6 am this morning...servers the whole time. They aren't coming back up till at least 7-8 tommorrow morning, when they get back to work monday morning.

I do like the fact that they work on the servers...however, unannounced stuff is kind of annoying. Getting mad over it doesn't do anything for anyone. So anyways...the game's awesome, and it's our jobs as the players to help the Devs find bugs, so remember to report them and not get mad. Understand it's an online game...it has bugs and downtime, not to mention it's new.

The game is actually way more stable than it was in beta. Can't wait for the level cap to be increases, and even more content added.. DCUO is an amazing game even with the issues. Welcome to the life of a new IP/MMO. Once everything is more concrete then hopefully most of the confusion that most newcomers feel will fade away

people are qqing about downtime lol there getting more people to come. And i must say as lvl 30 only two things was poping 5v5 moon base and 2v2 batcave after the first downtime today everything starting poping again so im happy. ANd if you have not had time to read the combat guide you better read it asap

Well I have had this game now since the release and between work, school and family I have gotten to enjoy it maybe a few hours. However with that said I don't mind waiting for them to expand the servers because this just means that more people are coming over to join in the fun.

The biggest issue for me is the lack of coherent information coming from the company. I can deal with downtime if they would implement: A) an easier way to check server status without having to load the launcher, wait for it to log in and get to the character select screen before being able to see that the worlds are down and B) better communication of when issues may be resolved by. Otherwise, I haven't encountered anything that I haven't run into with any number of other MMOs during launch.

I was hoping they'd add an "/ignore" user command to the game soon like other superhero RPGs because I didn't appreciate the racial epthets being tossed about in Zone Chat in Metropolis the Death and Glory PVP server this morning. I don't care if people think I'm "intolerant" for commenting about this, SOE should not tolerate that kind of bigotry on their servers and I sure don't want to hear that kind of language during gameplay. The last thing I want in my gaming experience is a bunch of 13-year olds who got mommy's permission to play a mature content game using "big man words" because their brain isn't fully developed yet.

@Kirk I guess I am just used to downtimes like this during launch for games lol so it doesn't bother me as much I suppose. As for how many chars we get I don't know. I would love if someone here has some insight though usually I stick with one or 2 chars myself.

@chris an expansion is not a game launch. First 3 months of WoW (original) we had 1 almost 2 week stretch of down time and several 1-2 day bouts, we had 50% of our quests bugged, 1 whole class (warlocks), most pets, etc.....they made enough mistakes in those few months to last the entire span of WoW.

Sorry to say but WoW's initial launch was not all that great...they had downtimes much longer than this...plus a ton of lag issues.

Ahhh the short memories of some people. Let's see WoW was a great launch? How about 2 hour queue's to get in, loot lag like crazy. Random crashes on all but a couple low pop servers for almost the entire first week. Some servers like Stormreaver and Illidan had down times like crazy for months. One of the reasons we called it Illidown. Forums were down a lot as well. Heck they didn't fix the EU forums completely until 4 months after launch. ALL MMO's have launch problems and comparing one to the other is like comparing apples to oranges; sure they are both fruits but thats about it.

For those that see your characters having lost levels, when the servers come back up they will the right level. This seems to happen when the servers are down. This was also like this during beta.

here is what whe need in this game!:teams combo where you and team mates can combine super powers,transporters ability,more powers in power trees,news board online not only on facebook,perssonal vehicules,crest editors where you can create ...your emblems but need a validation by SOE,acrobatic mode should be able to attack while on a wall,speed mode should be able attack while runing,should add more powers like(wather,electricity,earth,air light and darkness theres enough characters in dc universe to do it),powers and effect collors,under wather world,put a online store in the main game,team ability affiliations,change somthing dramaticly in world when big events,new mentors like (shazam vs black adam learn electricity,aquaman vs black manta learn wather,plastic man vs elongated man learn elasticity,terra learn earth,red tornado learn air,dr. light learn light,hades learn darkness and atom learn size),new heros and bad guys i whould like to kick ass! (first green lantern version,guy garner,krypto,plasticman,batman behon,azrael,lobo,starfire,atom,parallax,spectre,darckseid,fing fang foom,starro,clay face,magog,mordru,eclipso and many more just ask lol NEXT LEGENDS IS US!and thx guys really good game!
