Wittman Victory Statement
(Montross, VA) – Tonight, voters throughout the First Congressional District sent a message to Washington. They sent a message loud and clear that it is time to get our federal budget in check, to get our economy back on track, and to defend the freedoms of this nation. I am humbled by their support and their trust in me to continue to serve as their voice in Congress. It’s time to roll up our sleeves, and get back to implement an agenda that will put the power back in the hands of the people. There’s no time to waste – Congress must return immediately and address the critical issues facing our nation such as extending tax cuts to get our economy going again.
I am honored that the folks of America’s First District have put their trust in me to represent them for another two years. Like so many others, I want to ensure that my children and grandchildren are able to continue to live in a country that guarantees them a bright future full of opportunity. We cannot afford to wait any longer to reign in the out of control spending, get our economy moving again, and make sure our country is safe from its enemies at home and abroad.
Election Day is a reminder of the freedoms we are blessed with because of the sacrifice of so many in our Armed Forces. The First District has a rich history and presence of honorable active duty troops and veterans. They and their families know firsthand the price of freedom – and today we thank them for their service and sacrifice, which allows democracy to continue in this country.
I want to extend my gratitude to my family for their support, and to all the volunteers who have served, knocking on doors, shaking hands and calling the folks of the First District, encouraging them to have their voice heard.
