When I say "entrepreneur," who do you see? When I say "undocumented teen" or "over-policed youth," who do you see? Now, let's remix these images. What would happen if we invested in the young Americans we currently discard? I think we'd not only help them... We'd help ourselves. There's a way to do just that: join me in supporting BUILD for #GivingTuesday.
I serve on the national board of BUILD, a four-year college and career readiness program that uses entrepreneurship to ignite the potential of high school students from under resourced communities. When I was young, my community, including organizations like BUILD, invested in me. These same communities have been hit hard by COVID and systemic barriers to opportunity. BUILD helps, and BUILD works.
Let's give to this organization that increases high school graduation rates to 96 percent and serves as proof that these students are worth investing in. Let's change the narrative. Let's BUILD.
