Seriously people, it's a FACEBOOK post meant to get you talking about your favorite Nikkor lenses. Granted, the knucklehead that posted it didn't think first and evidently has no business doing this type of PR work but we all know it's the photographer that makes the picture. That being said, if the equipment means nothing (as some posters imply), why are we all not just using our cellphone cameras instead of spending the kind of money we do on (D)SLR equipment? Just a thought...

Phil I am inclined to inclined to agree that this is quite the publicity stunt that Nikon has set out. I think this had made people talk about Nikon in General.
I am a Photographer myself, I don't shoot with Nikon, I use a Sony Alpha.
IMHO, a Photographer is someone who is able to handle their camera equipment they own, uses what they have to the best of his ability, and be able to use the surrounds to capture and express the emotion of the subject.

I use Panasonic GH2 with some Old Vintage NIKKORs, some CANON FDs and New Tamron Lenses. I shoot Indie Films with this Kit.
Does the NIKON Statement means that I should give all this Gear to my 8 year old Nephew and ask him to shoot a Great Photograph?

but it's ME who makes the decisions that create the pictures, NOT the gear.
ultimatly, the only REAL difference between Nikon and Canon is: on Nikkor glass, infinity focus is to the left. on Canon, it's to the right.
