Coyote Valley OSP, Cattle and Greenery, 2/17/21 by Ronald Horii
On 2/17/21, after a few weeks of only light rain, I went for a hike on the Arrowhead Loop Trail in Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve. Grass was growing, but it was not very high. It was enough to feed the cattle, which were grazing all over the preserve. The trails were dry. There were no muddy spots on them. The creeks weren't flowing, but there was some water in the creekbeds. It's too early for most wildflowers, but there were some milkmaids blooming, which are among the first wildflowers to appear. The buckeye trees are leafing out. Ferns are growing.
