Santa Teresa Park Nature Pictures for 2020 by Ronald Horii
For a CNPS meeting, I made a slideshow on Santa Teresa County Park for the whole year of 2020, mostly with native plants, but with some wildlife and landscapes. I put the dates on the first picture from each sequence of pictures from that date. Some species are repeated to show what times of the year they can be seen. Here are the pictures from the slideshow, with more added. Many of these pictures were taken from earlier albums. I put links to those.
Because of the COVID19 shutdown, starting in March of 2020, I stayed close to home. I didn't go to many of the parks I would normally go to. I live about a mile from Santa Teresa Park, which is the closest park to me. During the pandemic, outdoor recreation has always been allowed, even encouraged to keep people healthy by exercising, as long as proper safety protocols are followed. The park has wide trails, where social distancing is possible. I primarily hiked those wide trails and avoided the narrow ones. I always wore a mask. I hiked this park several times a week, so I had lots of pictures of it.
