When it's hot down south, I head for the Bay, rather than getting stuck in the traffic heading for the coast. One of my favorite spots on the Bay is the Port of Redwood City. A segment of the Bay Trail runs by it. The port itself is a nice place to stop. It has water, restrooms, picnic tables, walking paths, views of the port, and a fishing pier.
