Alviso Town Tour, 7/13/15 by Ronald Horii
I've been to Alviso many times, mostly to go to the Alviso Marina, the Environmental Education Center, or the Bay Trail around the salt ponds. Today, I thought I'd explore the town itself. (See my old webpage on Alviso from 1999: http://baytrail.abag.ca.gov/vtour/map3/access/BTAlviso/Btalviso1.htm.) Alviso is unique. It's an historic town right at the edge of rapid development in North San Jose. While high-tech industries are being built at the edge of Alviso, and new housing is replacing old houses in the residential area, there are still many historic structures. I took a bike ride around Alviso, looking at the old and the new. Here are pictures. — in San Jose, CA, United States. (near San Jose, CA, United States)
