Rancho Raptors: Big Birds of Prey at Rancho Canada del Oro by Ronald Horii
Anna Venneman and Colleen Grzan from the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center of Morgan Hill (WERC, http://www.werc-ca.org/) came to Rancho Canada del Oro Space Preserve to give a presentation on big birds. Anna is WERC's educational outreach coordinator. Colleen is their director of animal care. They came as part of a summer program by the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority called Outreach to the Outdoors (http://www.openspaceauthority.org/activities/index.html). Each day, there was a different nature-oriented activity for families. The theme on Thursday June 18 was "Our Big Birds." WERC talked about large birds of prey and brought some live ones to show. — at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve. (near Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve)
