2015 Global Road Safety Week: Viet Nam by World Health Organization (WHO)
Since 2007 WHO has provided technical support to the Government of #VietNam to continuously improve its laws and regulations related to helmets for motorcyclists. For motorcyclists of all ages, the appropriate use of a helmet reduces the risk of death by 40% and the risk of serious head injury by 70%. Although progress still needs to be made, helmet wearing rates among children in Viet Nam have increased to 56%

As a Vietnamese, i know most people here wear helmets just to prevent law violation. Fortunately, in big cities, it actually helps and new rules about certified safety helmets will definitely save more life.
