Wildflower Hike on the Stile Ranch, Mine, Fortini Trails by Ronald Horii
In mid-March 2015, I went for a hike on one of the best and most popular wildflower trail routes in the County Parks: the Stile Ranch, Mine, Fortini Trail loop in Santa Teresa County Park. The Stile Ranch Trail begins in the Almaden Valley near the end of Fortini Road, off McKean Road. The wildflowers appeared to be at their peak, which is unusual for mid-March. Usually it doesn't look like this until mid-April. This has been an unusual season for wildflowers due to the warm weather and record rain patterns.
