Martial Cottle Park Update, 3/13/15 by Ronald Horii
Martial Cottle Park has been a buzz of activity, with crews of workers getting the park ready for its opening, which hopefully will be soon. One significant development has been the recent opening of the cross trail through the middle of the park. This opens up the heart of the park, if not for use, at least for viewing. The perimeter trail around the outside of the park has been open since last year, but it was not a complete loop. It was more like a 'C.' Now, it's still not a complete loop like an 'O,' but it's like an 'A.' I went for a bike ride at noon and biked nearly the complete trail system. You know the field with the cool oaks right off Santa Teresa before you get to open space's office? What is the deal with that? Potential agricultural education site or native grasses demo. place. If we don't save it now, then all S. SJ is going to be turned into a parking lot or a drive-thru place for edible nonfoods.
