Rancho Canada del Oro Docent Hike by Ronald Horii
On 2/21/15, there was a training session at Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve for new docents of the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority. It was organized and led by Teri Rogoway, Educational Programs Coordinator. The purpose of this session was to learn about plants and wildflowers. Providing guidance was plant expert Tom Cochrane. We hiked the Mayfair Ranch Trail, at least partway. Many chose to hike the entire loop, including the Longwall Canyon Trail. I hiked Rancho Canada del Oro last weekend with docent Paul Billig leading a Meetup hike, also accompanied by Tom Cochrane: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.881497511873772.1073741885.100000405933924&type=1&l=03528123ef
See that album for more details about the trail. Last week, I took pictures of the scenery. This time, I concentrated more on the plants. — at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve. (near Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve)
