UP Fight! by UP Diliman
Without a doubt, the unintended, unauthorized and unofficial release of one of the options for the new logo of the UP Fighting Maroons created not only confusion but also resentment. To be sure, the UP administration officials were as surprised as the rest of the UP community composed of varsity athletes, team coaches, students, faculty, non-academic personnel and alumni. In any case, as far as the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development (the UP Diliman office assigned to oversee the use of UP intellectual property) is concerned, there is NO official logo for the UP Fighting Maroons, so the UP Seal is usually attached to the jerseys of the student-athletes. Moreover, the use of UP System registered trademarks like the Oblation, and sometimes the UP Seal, in UAAP broadcasts, are unofficial renditions meant to identify the UP teams. However, the use of these registered trademarks has to be guided by the 2007 UP Brand Book.
In light of the uproar, or outcry, the UP administration officials tapped the help, support and assistance of #nowheretogobutUP, a volunteer alumni group helping UP sports. First, a new design team was formed, where topnotch UP alumni in the design industry were requested to work PRO BONO for the love of alma mater.Second, this new design team was introduced to the old design team so its members could all work together as one team.Third, different stakeholders (varsity athletes, team coaches, students, faculty, non-academic personnel and alumni) were invited for a series of presentations, consultations and discussions. In addition, online contributions of thoughts, sketches, drawings, ideas and opinions and were also solicited and thereafter considered.Fourth, after all of the stakeholders who participated in the series of presentations, consultations and discussions have unanimously given their consent, conformity and concurrence, the new logo and its various applications were submitted to the UP administration officials for approval.Fifth, finally, a logo for the UP Fighting Maroons, including its various applications, have been approved by UP, which we are releasing now to the public.

Cannot unsee the text "UMP". Subliminal militarization aside, at least it is a reputable firearm.

I do know that UP is left leaning but I still prefer oble. Oble is to UP while the raised left fist is to any left leaning entity
