Fantasy of Lights Walk-Through, Dec. 6, 2014 by Ronald Horii
For 16 years, the Fantasy of Lights holiday light show has been held at Vasona Lake County Park. It is normally a drive-through event, but for the second year in a row, there was a walk-through event on December 6, 2014. Visitors could walk through the park to see the lights close up. Unlike drive-through days, there were food trucks, Santa Claus, and T-Rex. There was no parking inside the park. Several remote locations were set aside for parking. Visitors caught free shuttle buses to the park. The logistics for doing this event was much more complicated than the drive-throughs. It required an army of staff, volunteers, and vendors. That's why the walk-through is only done once a year.

Walking by the displays provides much better opportunities for taking still pictures than driving through. A few people brought tripods. Others used flash. All these pictures below were taken with a tripod.

Here are pictures from Fantasy of Lights in 2006 and 2007 during special events or with special permission, when I could walk through and use a tripod: http://www.stpfriends.org/FOL/FOL.html — at Vasona Lake County Park. (near Vasona Lake County Park)

Ah, bummer, I missed it this year. It is so much nicer to walk it than drive it.
