Uvas Reservoir (drought conditions), 11/1/14 by Ronald Horii
Uvas Reservoir County Park covers 626 acres in the hills west of Morgan Hill. It's primary recreation element is Uvas Reservoir, which has a capacity of 9,835 acre-feet and 288 surface acres when full. It's a popular reservoir for fishing. It used to be popular for boating, but since the threat of the quagga and zebra mussels, boating has been banned. This year has been one of the worst drought years in history. These pictures, taken on 11/1/14, show how low the reservoir has gotten. It was on a day with some light rain, but it didn't make dent in the drought. Hopefully more rain will come, and this will be the lowest the reservoir will get. These pictures show what it looks like now. For comparison, at the end are pictures of what it looked like in wetter years. — at Uvas Reservoir. (near Uvas Reservoir)

Wandered down where the water normally is today and found many building foundations, several cool bridges, and a entry way(?) down there. Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. A new cache was placed at one of the cool sites this afternoon
