Night Light Painting Pictures, Santa Teresa Park by Ronald Horii
While I was at the Pueblo Area of Santa Teresa at the last movie night of the season, I took these night pictures, experimenting with light painting. I put my camera on a tripod and used a time exposure of up to 1 minute and illuminated objects with a powerful LED flashlight, "painting" them with light. The streaks you see in some of the pictures are airplanes. Light painting allows selectively lighting part of a scene, like objects in the distance, while avoiding other areas, like the foreground. Using an on-camera flash would tend to over-illuminate the foreground, and anything beyond the range of the flash would be black. — at Santa Teresa County Park. (near Santa Teresa County Park)
