Hellyer County Park BioBlitz, 2/11/24 by Ronald Horii
There was a BioBlitz in Hellyer County Park on Saturday, 2/11/24 . The aim of a BioBlitz is to observe and record as many living things as possible within a particular area and time period. The observations are recorded using the iNaturalist app or website. The event was sponsored by Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful (KCCB): https://www.keepcoyotecreekbeautiful.org/, https://www.facebook.com/CoyoteCreekSJ/, and the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST): https://www.facebook.com/POSTLandTrust. It was organized by biologist Merav Vonshak, who has been holding BioBlitzes in other parts of the county. Merav created this website for BioBlitzes: https://www.bioblitz.club/ and this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/bioblitz.club. Here are the results of the BioBlitz: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/hellyer-park-february-2024-bioblitz-event. The last BioBlitz at Hellyer was on 11/11/23: https://tinyurl.com/3ukdfx78.
