Hellyer Lake Level and Coyote Creek After Rains, 2/7/24 by Ronald Horii
I've been watching Cottonwood Lake and Coyote Creek in Hellyer County Park go up and down. On 1/25/24, the lake was almost full, being filled from Coyote Creek, which also rose dramatically, as water was being released from Anderson Reservoir.. However, on 1/28/24, I saw that the lake had overflowed. The trail around the lake and adjacent picnic were flooded. It was caused by a blocked outlet pipe, which was fixed. See:

http://tinyurl.com/yckmpz6n. I came back on 2/7/24 to see how the lake was doing. The flooding has gone down. The lake is full, but water is flowing into the overflow drain. The trail around the lake is out of the water. Recent heavy rains have created puddles on the paths and picnic areas, but at least they are not inundated by the lake.
