Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum @Casa Grande Reopened, 10/14/23 by Ronald Horii
After being closed since November 2022, the Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum, housed in the Casa Grande in New Almaden, reopened in October 2023. The problems that caused it to be closed and stay closed were fixed. The exterior was re-painted. Staff and volunteers cleaned up the inside. The museum had been since about October 7, but it was an unannounced soft opening. It gave the staff time to make sure the museum was ready to accommodate the public. The grand reopening was announced on Facebook on Friday, October 13: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=712239617603322&set=pcb.712239650936652. I was at the Casa Grande on October 14 for NAQCPA's Pioneer Day (pictures later). After the event, I went through the museum and took these pictures. It looks good and ready for visitors.
