La Fuente, Santa Teresa County Park, 9/23/23 by Ronald Horii
On 9/23/23, the La Fuente event was held at the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch in Santa Teresa County Park. La fuente means 'the source' or 'the origin' in Spanish. Here's the description of the event: "As part of Hispanic Heritage month, celebrate the families of the past, present, and future at Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch and their relationship to the Santa Teresa Spring. Evening festivities include music, stories, crafts, and games for all ages. This event is also part of Binational Health Week." Below are pictures of today's event. They are organized by activity and are not necessarily in chronological order. These are pictures of park staff and volunteers: https://tinyurl.com/yc69vt6v. Here are pictures of the Friends of Santa Teresa Park (FOSTP) at La Fuente: https://tinyurl.com/bdzd2byw. This is the FOSTP website: http://www.stpfriends.org/. For more information about the park and maps, see: https://parks.sccgov.org/santa-clara-county-parks/santa-teresa-county-park. La Fuente was held in the historic Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch. Here's more information about the ranch: https://parks.sccgov.org/plan-your-visit/activities/cultural-venues/bernal-gulnac-joice-ranch. La Fuente has been an almost-yearly celebration, starting in 2006, but with different names over the years. It started with Founder's Day Fandango in 2006: http://www.stpfriends.org/Fandango-06/Fandango-06.html.
